Great learning ideas in Kalamazoo County
are about to get a boost from Inspired
At the August 21 INSPIRE 2014-2015 conference, Kalamazoo Community Foundation President/CEO Carrie Pickett-Erway offered a sneak preview of a new Inspired Learning Grants program that will kick off in September.
The grants of up to $2,500, provided by the Kalamazoo Community Foundation and The Learning Network of Greater Kalamazoo, will be available to any Kalamazoo County educator who works with kids and wants to inspire them with an innovative learning program.
“We know educators have great ideas to inspire learning, and we want to help bring those ideas to life,” explained Pickett-Erway.
Want to buy a special piece of equipment for an after-school program? You could use this grant. Want to take your science class on a special trip to NASA? This won't pay all the costs, but it would provide a great start and student fundraising could do the rest.
The Inspired Learning Grants are about empowering Kalamazoo County educators to launch big ideas that inspire learning and leave a lasting impact on kids.
Connect with The Learning Network on Twitter or Facebook for more information when the program kicks off in September. Applications will be taken in the fall and grants will be awarded in January.
