The Learning Network of Greater Kalamazoo is a dynamic collaboration of people and organizations committed to transforming how, and how well, we prepare everyone who lives in Kalamazoo County –– from infants to senior citizens –– for lifelong success.
The greater Kalamazoo community has a history of transformative education initiatives, dating back to its support of taxpayer-funded education with the 1874 Kalamazoo School Case decision. Again in 2005, The Kalamazoo Promise catalyzed a new cycle of transformation, changing the way people think about the power of education. The Learning Network will build on this history by constructively confronting the persistent challenge of preparing children for success in school and older students for post-high school education and learning –– especially those who live in poverty.
